2024 By The Numbers

Thanks to our supporters, our accomplishments and organization continue to grow. Here is a small snapshot of the important work we have done and will continue because of you!

  • Hosted 115 events in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park with 1,489 volunteers/participants.

  • We brushed 23 miles of trails with our volunteers. Additionally, we raked 35 miles of trail in the 2024 raking season! In total, our community contributed 7,314 total volunteer hours, over double last year's total!

  • Deployed 214 Forest Ambassadors on the trails to help park users and educate them on Forest Park, Marquam Nature Park, our work, and responsible recreation.

  • Deployed 31 Volunteer Crew Leaders, 57 Rapid Responders, and 49 Independent Volunteers to do work in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park.

Opposing PGE's Harborton Reliability Project

In 2024, PGE submitted a proposal for their Harborton Reliability Project. This project would have removed nearly 5 acres from trees in the northern portion of Forest Park, impacted local streams and wetlands, and disturbed local wildlife populations, such as the northern red-legged frog.

Since 2024, FPC has worked with community partners to oppose PGE's proposed project in order to defend Forest Park and uphold the Forest Park Natural Resource Management Plan. This work has extended into 2025, where FPC, along with the Forest Park Neighborhood Association, appealed to City Council to have the project be denied. With a 12-0 decision, we were able to successfully overturn PGE's proposal! We thank City Council for upholding Forest Park and to you, members of our community, for helping us to rally in defense of Forest Park.

Thank You FPC Volunteers and Donors

“I am excited to help people fall in love with, and recreate in, these incredible natural spaces inside Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park. Parks like these represent part of what makes our region livable, healthy, and fun."
