Wildwood Welcome Party: Zine-Making with Independent Publishing Resource Center

A Celebration of Trees, Trails and Community

The Wildwood Welcome Party is an event focused on bringing together communities from all around Portland for a two-day event full of inclusive activities, where participants can choose from a variety of unique experiences and engage with Forest Park in ways that are fun, and relevant for them. Click here to see everything going on between June 17-19th! All events are free (thanks to support from our friends at Nike!) and open to all ages.

About Zine-Making

Join us in partnership with the Independent Publishing Resource Center for a two-hour outdoor writing workshop! Together we’ll dive into the form and practice of zine-making, a mode of self-publishing that takes only a piece of folded paper, a pen, and your own creativity.

We’ll look at some finished zines from other artists, fold up one of our own, and explore some writing prompts to kick-start our creativity. Will you fill your zine with a personal story, a poem, a comic, or something else entirely? Come hang with us and see where your zine takes you! No experience necessary. Beginners and people of all ages are encouraged to join, and all materials will be provided.

We will be meeting at Holman Lane.

Alternative Transportation Encouraged and Rewarded
