Help FPC Find a New Field House

Forest Park ConservancyUncategorized

Our organization needs a new field house for the next five years that can accommodate our needs and allow us to continue our mission to protect, restore, and connect people to Forest Park.

Having a dedicated location we can store tools, wash gear and equipment, and park our work vehicles is mission-critical, and we need your help to find the perfect spot! We are looking for a space in NW Portland or the Industrial District. It is also important to have public transportation access.

If you have/know of a space that meets our needs, please us. We would love to hear from you on any leads you might have!

To meet our organization’s needs, we are looking for a space that has the following:

  • Heating to keep our tools and equipment in good condition and to prevent mold, rot, and rust.
  • Plenty of empty wall space with the ability to modify and add tool storage (hooks, shelves, etc.) while still maintaining clear walkways – this should be at least 25-30 linear feet of clear wall space without windows or other amenities that would get in the way of tool hooks and other storage. More wall space or storage closets/attic space/etc. would be ideal for storing “off-season” tools.
  • Adequate space for a fuel storage locker, ~3′ x 3′ x 3′, and no restrictions that prevent proper storage of flammable materials
  • Room against a wall or in the center of the room for sizeable industrial shelving to hold signage, event bins, gloves, PPE, etc. – and also room for a large table (think a dining table that seats at least 8 people) for gear sorting, etc., ideally in the center of the room.
  • Washer/dryer hookups or the ability to modify the space to suit a washer/dryer.
  • A kitchenette or room where we could build our kitchenette setup (coffee station, sink, mini fridge, utensil/coffee/event food pantry storage, etc.)
  • Secure parking for 2 vehicles near the location.

Any and all tips are appreciated. Thank you for your support!
