We are partnering with NW Dirt Churners to bring back the Nasty Challenge! Last held in 2019, the Nasty Challenge is a series of Nasty routes, designed to challenge runners and hikers. These routes utilize hills, technical trails, and firelanes to provide you with a real challenge! It’s a great way to learn some new trails, as well as a fun way to get to know Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park.
As part of the Nasty Challenge, we will be fundraising to help support our work caring for Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park. To participate, you’ll make a $35 donation through the Nasty Challenge campaign page. This will count as your registration fee. After you’ve completed your donation, you will be emailed a donation confirmation receipt. The receipt will include a Google Doc that features the five Nasty Challenge routes.
As part of the challenge, we encourage you to start a peer-to-peer fundraiser on our CauseVox page and ask your friends and family to support your effort and raise funds for the parks! Participants who raise over $100 will get a free Nasty Challenge hat, which will also be for sale on the FPC store for a limited time! A special grand prize will be awarded to the top fundraiser! Additionally, we will be providing prizes to the fastest Nasty hikers and runners.
During the challenge, we will hold two in-person runs, with the first occurring in Marquam Nature Park on National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 28th. If you wanna come out, meet the community, and run together we hope you will join us!
