Hiking with Oregon Black Pioneers

Come out for a few hours and submerge yourself in a unique exploration, where you can connect to the outdoors in Portland’s one-of-a-kind urban forest. Find comfort bringing your whole self to the experience.

The Forest Park Conservancy in partnership with Oregon Black Pioneers would like you to join us for a hike with Zachary Stocks, outdoor educator and Executive Director of Oregon Black Pioneers, for a hike on Oregon’s Black history. On August 28th, hikers will get a snapshot of the 400+ year history of people of African descent in Oregon, including explorers, Oregon Trail pioneers, Black exclusion, and the making of a Black community in Portland.

Time: Saturday, August 28th; 9:00am
