Experience the Forest Park Nature Adventure!

Forest Park ConservancyUncategorized

The Forest Park Nature Adventure is an activity guide, created and designed by Super Nature Adventures. We were excited to create a scavenger hunt-style activity guide that can be used as a way to introduce families to Forest Park and be able to have a fun adventure out on the trails. If you have never been to Forest Park, don’t worry about knowing your way around! This guide provides maps for trail routes suitable for kids, information about different plants and sights you can find on the trails, and useful tips for new trail users.

There are three trail maps included in this guide, one each for Lower Macleay Trail, Upper BPA Trail, and Cannon Trail. These trails were chosen not only as good, introductory trails, but because they also allow you to explore multiple different habitats within Forest Park, making each trail its own unique adventure. Each map comes with illustrations of some of the different native plants that you can find on these trails, as well as some activity prompts for you to do with your kids to teach them about our local forests!

In addition, the guide also includes activities to prompt kids to explore and learn about the forest floor and canopy. These activities highlight the dynamic nature of a forest, and allow for activities that you can do anywhere in Forest Park!

If you want to participate in the Forest Park Nature Adventure, you can download and print out the adventure guide below. Or, open this webpage on your mobile device and bring some paper and pencils along for your kids to write about and draw what they find!

Want to join us for more adventures after using the Forest Park Nature Adventure guide? Check out our Events Calendar. Kids 12 and under are welcome to join events with a parent or guardian present. We would love to have the next generation of park users join us on the trails!
