Flora and Fauna Scavenger Hunt

As a part of a morning of events in Marquam Nature Park, enjoy a self-guided scavenger hunt. Look for the many plants and animals that call Marquam Nature Park their home. Beginner level is appropriate for children. Snacks and water are provided, but we ask that you bring a refillable water bottle. No need to register in advance. Click here for more details.

Restoration Work Parties

Help us remove invasive ivy and improve forest health in Marquam Nature Park! We will be removing ivy from the Sunnyside Trail in order to help protect the health of the park’s local ecosystem. Please register in advance. Click here for more details.

iNaturalist Bioblitz

We’re organizing a community science project. We’ll teach you how to use iNaturalist, a crowdsourcing app that records the presence and frequency of organisms in a particular area. You can become a member of the Marquam Nature Park Bioblitz team, and record your observations of flora and fauna in Marquam Nature Park during the month of October. We’ll also teach you how to identify common plants and birds found in the park to help you get started. No need to register in advance. Click here for more details.

Guided Hikes

Join us on the trails for a guided hike! You’ll learn about the history of the park, identify plants along the way, and hear about the restoration work we have done and continue to do in Marquam Nature Park. There will be two separate hikes, one at 9:30 am and one at 10:30 am. The 9:30 am hike will be about 1 mile with 400ft of elevation gain and the 10:30 am hike will be about 1.5 miles with 500 ft of elevation gain. Please register in advance. Click here for more details.
