Join an FPC Committee
Interested in helping guide the Forest Park Conservancy (FPC) and our work to improve the park and surrounding lands? You could become part of one of our committees.
FPC has seven committees. Committees are composed of FPC staff, board members, and community members. Together, these committees help provide FPC staff with support and feedback on matters such as public outreach, financial planning, and more. If you want to volunteer some of your professional expertise to FPC this is a great way to help support our work!
Development and Communications Committee: This committee supports our fundraising and outreach efforts to mobilize philanthropic support for Forest Park and public engagement with the organization.
Useful skills and experience in marketing, communications, event planning and promotion, and data analysis are welcome. Experience as a donor to the organization is a plus!
Strategy and Stewardship Committee: This committee supports our strategic planning, partnerships with other organizations, and community engagement in pursuit of the goals of the Greater Forest Park Conservation Initiative for the future wellbeing of Forest Park.
Useful skills and experience include non-profit management, HR, coalition building, and experience building a strategic plan.
Finance and Governance Committee: Help provide FPC with budgeting and financial planning support, monitor the organization’s financial efficiency, manage internal controls, and assess financial reports for timely communication with the Board.
Useful skills include experience with auditing, accounting, investing, and strategic budget development.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee: Support FPC in our commitment to ensure a safe and welcoming environment as both a workplace and the main stewards of a large, public park. The committee’s major functions are to advise the Forest Park Conservancy leadership on DEI matters in strategy and programming and to serve as the voice of FPC supporters on DEI matters.
Grant Writing Committee: Work closely with program managers to help research, write and/or review grants for our different programs.
Events Planning Committee: This committee will work closely with development staff to design, plan and execute eve
Marquam Nature Park Advisory Committee: This committee advocates for Marquam Nature Park, identifying its needs, planning activities, and making recommendations to FPC and PP&R about projects and work that will improve MNP's ecosystem health and improve the user experience for park goers.
Share your skills and ensure FPC can continue to grow and adapt. If you are interested in helping, please send a resume / CV and a brief letter of interest to us at info@forestparkconservancy.org. Let us know if you have any questions!
