Free Events in the Forest: Join us for our Nature Education Program!

Mikey BrooksUncategorized

As part of our commitment to provide more opportunities for our community to experience Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park, we are hosting a myriad of activities in the parks this summer! If you’d like to get out and experience nature with us through fun activities, we encourage you to sign up for one of our upcoming events!

Forest Yoga: Yoga is a great way to unwind and center yourself, and doing it in nature is an amazing way to connect with the natural world around you! We have a few different instructors, Kate, Baby, and Barbara. They are all excellent instructors who will be offering their expertise to lead you in these yoga experiences, which are suitable for all experience levels!

Herb Walk: We partner with the National University of Natural Medicine to provide monthly herb walks in Forest Park! These are a great way to learn more about the plants present in our local parks, some of which might even be in your own backyard!

Basket Weaving: If you volunteer with us, you are probably already aware that English ivy is a major threat to the long-term health of our parks. We spend a lot of time removing it from the trails, so let’s reuse it for something positive! We will be hosting ivy basket weaving monthly from June through September.

Painting in the Park: Join our monthly painting classes held in the heart of nature. We offer two sessions each month—one open to all skill levels and another designed as a family-friendly experience. Whether you’re a beginner looking to get started, someone aiming to improve your skills, or simply want to enjoy a creative and relaxing time outdoors, our classes are the perfect opportunity to connect with nature and art.
