Forest Park Conservancy staff are currently recruiting for the 2021 cohort of our Green Jobs Training and Internship Program in anticipation of a spring start date. This program will continue to focus on developing a diverse workforce in the green jobs sector. Some changes you will see include:
- New Fellowship Role: retaining an Intern from last year’s program to play a crucial role in supporting the program’s implementation and provide peer mentoring to new interns.
- Mentorship Opportunities: a formal mentorship component will be included. We will be recruiting for mentors from outside of our partner organizations to provide additional support for the participant’s personal and professional development. We will be opening recruitment soon, so stay tuned!
- Strengthening Partnerships: We are excited to continue our work with Elevate Oregon and empower Green Jobs participants to lead in the planning and implementing of this program’s environmental education activities with 7th and 8th-grade students at the Parkrose Middle School. Our partnership with Elevate Oregon is made possible through the support of Metro and their Nature Education grants.
- Collaboration with the Private Sector: Multiple foundations and government grants will help fund this year’s interns’ cohort. However, to ensure this program is sustainable and successful, we are looking for additional corporate partners and sponsors to participate in this life-changing program. To learn more about sponsorship of this program, please contact Renee Myers.
For any questions regarding the program, please contact Katrina Montoya, FPC’s Fieldwork and Internship Coordinator.
