Roll over funds from your IRA: if you’re 70.5+, you can receive excellent tax benefits.
If you have a required minimum distribution, consider making FPC your beneficiary. A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $108,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions. As a result, donors may avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets and prevent phaseouts of other tax deductions, though there are some other limitations.
To set up your IRA distribution as a QCD, you’ll contact the financial institution that manages your IRA. They will assist you in creating and distributing your QCD donation. Depending on your financial institution, they might either mail you the check first, or they may be able to send it directly to Forest Park Conservancy.
