Heads up volunteers! We have a few volunteer trainings on this calendar for this fall. We are looking for people who are interested in supporting our work during the fall raking season as volunteer crew leaders and independent volunteers!
Wish you could give back to Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park on your own schedule? Then Independent Volunteering could be for you! To help us maintain the 50+ miles of soft surface trails in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park, we train dedicated volunteers to work independently, outside of our regular volunteer work parties, on solo projects! This helps us address the ever-changing needs of our parks by coordinating with our independent volunteers who can tackle these independent projects.
This program is a great way to get out on the trails, give back in your free time, and support FPC’s mission year-round.
Join us for Independent Volunteer Training on Thursday, October 30th to learn more about the program and to get trained to rake the trails independently as part of FPC’s overarching raking plan this fall.
Additionally, we are looking for volunteer crew leaders to help us manage work parties. If you are a regular volunteer who is interested in helping us run work parties and learning more about our stewardship techniques, we encourage you to join us for a volunteer crew leader training on Saturday, November 8th.
Finally, if you are new to our organization and want to get started volunteering with us we could use your help during one of our upcoming work parties! Raking season is fast approaching, and we will need your help to keep the trails clear to improve trail safety and prevent erosion! You can find all of our volunteer opportunities on our events calendar.
