Leif Erikson at Germantown Trail head

Here at the Leif Erikson at Germantown Trailhead, the northern terminus for Leif Erikson Drive, you can hike, run, or bike down the Germantown Trail, providing 10.3 miles of trail through the Forest Park, where you can connect with multiple connector trails, some as close as the Tolinda and Water Line trails 1 mile south.

If you prefer, you can take the connector Cannon Trail .5 miles to the Wildwood Trail, hiking North or South to create multiple challenging loops of various lengths.

About 2 miles from Thurman entrance is the remains of a home that once stood on Leif Erikson Drive still visible to park goers.

Begin at the Leif Erikson trailhead off Germantown Rd Hike from the Leif parking lot up Cannon Trail (.25 mi)
Continue straight on Wildwood to head south to Springville Rd (2.1 mi)
Turn left at Springville Rd to hike down to Leif (.38 mi)
Turn left to head north on Leif (1.8 mi) Finish at the Leif Erikson parking lot!

Shorten this loop by turning left at Waterline Trail at mile 24 on Wildwood Hike down Waterline to Leif Erikson (.35 mi)
Turn left on Leif to its terminus (1 mi)
Finish at the Leif Erikson parking lot!
