Thank you! Earth Day Oregon Impacts.

Forest Park ConservancyUncategorized

Thank you to the volunteers, donors, and business partners who joined us to celebrate Earth Day 2021 yesterday. We are proud to share that we surpassed our fundraising goal and raised just over $12,080!

Earth Day was just the beginning and the perfect start to a full season of stewardship events where we once again are able to work alongside our amazing community of volunteers, continue to build our donor base, and engage with even more partners to increase our collective impact on both Forest Park and the broader community.

So far, since we have been able to start up volunteer events, we have had 4 events with 58 volunteers and have removed roughly an acre (43,560 square feet) of English Ivy (Hedera Helix) from the Upper Holman area.

And we have big plans for 2021! Alongside our donors, volunteers, and partners we will:

  • Continue to work alongside PP&R to identify and respond to unforeseen repair needs through our dynamic Trails Program.
  • Partner with Love is King to work toward a safe and equitable Forest Park community.
  • Through our Stewardship Program, partner with Vive NW and Post 58 to inspire future stewards and enter our third year of the successful Forest Park Ambassador Program to provide more support to people enjoying Forest Park.
  • Launch a workshop series focused on antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion for volunteer leaders alongside Trailkeepers of Oregon.
  • Work with private landowners surrounding the park boundaries to remove non-native species to reduce ladder fuels and wildfire risks while improving the Forest Park ecosystem.

Your support will help us accomplish all of this and more!

Thank you to our Earth Day Oregon Business Partners, @trailhead_cu, @earthwell, @fitliferunlife, @wildwoodcandle_co. We couldn’t have done it without you!
